One Physical Therapy, is Long Island's premier outpatient orthopedic physical therapy practice, specializing in the treatment of orthopedic conditions, sport related injuries and spinal disorders. Our practice is classified as a "boutique" physical therapy practice, in that our approach involves one-on-one treatment and on-going evaluative techniques with a credentialed physical therapist, at all times.
What is our philosophy?
One Physical Therapy credits its success to our advanced level of post graduate education, board certifications, continuing education, and cutting edge clinical skills. If at any time we feel as if we can not help you, we will let you know. We strive to get you back to the activities in your life that you are presently unable to do. In doing that, we do not believe in prolonged stays in physical therapy. Our therapists will provide you with the tools and education to help you heal as soon as possible. The end result is a well educated patient with a sound understanding of his or her body and how to maintain it in the future.
Our focus is to never enter into the all-to-common "mill-like" atmosphere that is typically seen in most outpatient physical therapy clinics. Our patients are always treated by a physical therapist and never by a physical therapy aide or assistant. Our therapists emphasize independence in the management of each patient's condition rather than dependence on costly physical therapy equipment or unproven modalities. However, we do recognize that certain patients will require a hands-on manual approach or may need to utilize pathology specific equipment prior to obtaining an independent state.
Which patients are appropriate for physical therapy?
One Physical Therapy caters to all types of orthopedic patients ranging from the “weekend warrior” to any individual suffering from spinal pain or orthopedic disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle or foot. We are a primary referral source for post-operative orthopedic conditions by the top surgeons in the New York area. Additionally, our physical therapists will commonly treat elite athletes such as those at the professional and olympic level, along with many athletes from the NFL, NHL and MLB
